Nick is a Physiotherapy Resident from Fall River N.S and is excited to be joining the Cove Sport Therapy team. Nick is a recent grad from the Dalhousie MSc Physiotherapy program (2018) and has a BSc in Kinesiology from Dalhousie (2016) as well. During Nick’s education, Nick was able to work with the University King’s College women’s rugby team as the lead trainer for the past two years and assisted with the Nova Scotia Keltic senior men’s rugby team this past summer. In addition, Nick covered numerous sporting events ranging from the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association women’s soccer national championship to local ultimate frisbee tournaments.
Growing up Nick was involved with a variety of different sports, achieving a provincial championship and national medals in Greco-Roman wrestling. After his wrestling career was completed Nick transitioned to coaching, helping lead the Lockview Dragons team to multiple provincial championships. As of late, Nick has spent his summers playing rugby for the Halifax Rugby Football Club and one summer playing with the Nova Scotia Keltics senior men.
Nick’s passion is working with an athletic population, but he has enjoyed working with people from other backgrounds and helping them reach their goals and return to their “sport”. During his education Nick was able to complete the “Choices & Changes: Motivating Healthy Behaviours” workshop. Nick believes that education does not stop and plans on continuing to further his education to progress his skills and to ensure he can help his clients return to everyday life. Nick’s philosophy to physiotherapy is delivering a patient centered care approach by working with the client to give them the tools, support, and guidance to achieve independence with their treatment.
Nick continues to keep active through the week playing any variety of activities through intramural sport and is looking forward on working with you in the future.
